Pride thy name is CJ!

Went to see a film last night and got such a thrill! The protagonist was the same character as the woman in my six shot – and, intuitively, without proper research I had got so many things right! The premature greying, the lonely childhood, the broken engagement – I kept looking incredulously at my friend as each scene unfolded :)

Today at the edit I first made a total mess cos I tried to cut on action match points which made the rhythm go for a complete toss. Quickly realized this and that the film did not need action continuity to work, so started afresh. Things didn’t seem to be falling into place at all, went to my teacher with my head in my hands wailing, ‘It does not convey anything!’ He took a look, and we reworked it together and now it’s really looking quite good :) I am very happy. He was completely enamoured by my actor – said she had something Waheeda Rahman-like about her! We spent five mins discussing her eyes :) So even though she is not an acting student, I made the right casting choice! He also really seemed to like the film – said that though I had chosen a subject rather ambitious for a six shot but – ‘isme kuch hai’ :) :)

Dunno what Prof. C will have to say though – apparently the first thing he bellows is ‘But where is the story??’ – yikes!
